For Better or For Worse

A young married couple wrestles with the painful weight of infertility. The husband, ever patient and optimistic, shields his wife from family pressures, embraces the possibility of IVF or adoption, and remains steadfast in his hope for a child. Yet, he quietly wonders why she seems so detached from the process.

Unknown to him, she carries a haunting secret: a history of abortions that left her with Asherman’s syndrome; scar tissue that makes pregnancy and carrying a baby to term nearly impossible. While she hides this truth in private conversations with their doctor, he interprets her reluctance as shyness, never suspecting the depth of her pain.
When her past is unexpectedly revealed through someone else, their marriage is shaken to its core.

Crushed by guilt and overwhelmed by despair, she spirals; partying, drinking, and pushing her husband away. One night, in a reckless haze, she brings another man into their home. Though nothing happens beyond a drunken kiss, her husband walks in. Instead of rage, he responds with calm restraint, sending the man away and gently caring for her.

This quiet strength becomes her turning point. Confused by his unwavering love, she demands to know why. His answer is simple yet profound: he has chosen her, flaws and all, for better or worse. He too has a past, but what matters is the life they are building together.
Their reconciliation rekindles intimacy, and they decide to pursue adoption.

But on the very day they are set to meet a child, she discovers she is unexpectedly pregnant. A wave of doubt strikes, was it her husband’s, or the stranger’s? The stranger confirms that they never had sex, it is indeed her husband’s child. With renewed hope, she is placed on bed rest, and together they welcome the baby they had longed for.
